Osteopathy in Wiesbaden, How can we help?

In general, osteopathy treatment could be recommended in various physical limitations. It is important to know that osteopathy does not treat diseases but people. The aim of osteopathy is to bring the patient into balance in a natural way. From an osteopathic point of view after the mobility and the alignment of the affected structures have improved, movement restrictions and pain can often be avoided. Last but not least: in many cases osteopathy supplements conventional medicine, but does not replace it. For this reason, it is sometimes advisable to carry out necessary diagnostics. Findings from previous medical examinations are also helpful for your osteopath.

What is osteopathy?

Independent form of medicine used to identify and treat functional disorders’. This is the shortest way to describe osteopathy. It was discovered 140 years ago by an American doctor Dr. Andrew Taylor Still and it’s constantly developing and becoming more popular in healthcare. What’s special about osteopathy is that it does not focus on treating individual symptoms. Patient is always treated as a whole. From an osteopathic point of view movement restrictions and malfunctions can spread within the body. This happens e.g. through the fascia. As soon as a structure becomes unbalanced, it can show up in another area in the form of discomfort. Would you like to know more about fascia and its connections? what can I expect during the treatment?

The osteopathy treatment is a hands on bodywork. The therapist works with specially developed osteopathic techniques. These can be passive (such as pressure, stretching, fascial manipulations) and active (e.g. muscle energy techniques).
Although osteopathy has been partially reimbursed by many public health insurance companies since 2012, many patients do not know it. Therefore, I recommend to speak to your insurance in advance. In addition, you will find an overview of the health insurance providers that partially cover the costs of a treatment. Would you like to read more about osteopathy?
